Man axes parents, daughter to death in Palanpur

PALANPUR: In a savage assault, a 25-year-old man allegedly axed his parents and three-year-old daughter to death in Malarpur village, some six km from Kheralu town of Mehsana district on Wednesday.The accused Nagji Thakore again went berserk and furiously started wielding the blood-soaked axe when police and other villagers gathered around his house. He also started throwing stones at police, injuring one cop. Villagers and policemen had a tough time controlling him. Ultimately, he received some blows of sticks and he fell unconscious.The deceased have been identified as his father Babuji Thakore (55), mother Manshi Thakore(55) and three-year-old daughter Dharti.“We got information from the villagers after they got to know about the bodies lying in the house. When we reached there, his wife who was also sustained the blow of the ax, was hiding in a room. She was shivering with trauma,” said police sub inspector, Kheralu, SH Bawa.Thakore was rushed to Mehsana Civil Hospital and he is unconscious.“It looks like fallout of some family feud. But the exact reason for such brutality will be known only after Thakore regains consciousness,” Bawa said.
